PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad & Tobago -- Trinidad & Tobago head coach Dennis Lawrence announced Saturday a 26-man roster for a pair of World Cup qualifiers at against Panama (March 24) and Mexico (March 28) at Hasely Crawford Stadium.

The squad is evenly split between locally- and overseas-based players, including midfielder Khaleem Hyland, who has scored two goals in 28 games this season with KVC Westerlo in the Belgian top flight.

With three players each receiving invitations, TT Pro League sides DirecTV W Connection (midfielder Hughtun Hector, plus defenders Alvin Jones and Tristan Hodge) and Defence Force (defender Curtis Gonzales, midfielder Hashim Arcia and forward Jamille Boatswain) were the best represented clubs.

“I think the local based players have responded very well to what we asked of them,” said Lawrence. “We prepared them physically, mentally and tactically we tried as best as possible. We had to try and incorporate the players from abroad, so we had to select based on the positions that were needed and required for what I want to do.

“In the end we put together a group that will give us the best possible chance of getting the result against Panama.”

The Soca Warriors (0W-0D-2L, 0 points) currently sit fifth in the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, ahead of the United States on goal difference (-4 to -5).
