SAN JOSE, Costa Rica – Costa Rica head coach Oscar Ramirez announced Friday a 25-man roster for World Cup qualifiers against Mexico (March 24, away) and Honduras (March 28, away).

The Ticos top the CONCACAF Hexagonal table with maximum points from two games, two more than the Mexicans and Panama.  Honduras sits in fourth on three points.

"The two games that we’re going to face have different external situations – Mexico, altitude, and Honduras, heat,” said Ramirez.  “As to what they can show on the pitch, Mexico has a more combined proposition.  They are versatile.

“Meanwhile, Honduras is more pressure and wages on the counterattack.  We will try to take on the game with or without a ball.”

Attacker Bryan Ruiz, the 2016 CONCACAF Player of the Year, highlights the squad, which includes defender Heiner Mora for the first time in three years.

Players are expected to start arriving for training at the Complejo Deportivo FEDEFUTBOL-Plycem on Sunday.
