TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras –Honduras head coach Jorge Luis Pinto named Sunday a 26-player roster for upcoming World Cup qualifiers against the United States (March 24, away) and Costa Rica (March 28, home).

Motagua and Real España – both from the Liga Nacional de Fútbol Profesional de Honduras -- are the best represented clubs in the squad with five players each, while Olimpia and the USA’s Houston Dynamo follow with three.

The squad features Real España midfielder Jorge Claros, who was named the best player at January’s Copa Centroamericana, which Honduras won for the fourth time by posting a 4W-1D-0L record.

Also earning a recall is Anderlecht’s Andy Najar.  The 23-year-old midfielder made two appearances in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, but has not played for the Catrachos since starting in a 2-0 win over visiting El Salvador in a World Cup qualifier on March 29, 2016.

After getting their Major League Soccer careers with the Dynamo, attacking Romell Quioto and Alberth Elis earned selection.  Quioto has netted in each of his first two games, while the 21-year-old Elis has found the back of the net once.

Honduras occupies fourth place in the final round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup with a 1W-0D-1L record.
