    CBSC Updates: February 25, 2017 – Panama, Mexico advance to final; earn World Cup berths

    NASSAU, Bahamas – The 2017 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship semifinals and other placement matches are being contested Saturday. CONCACAF.com will be providing updates throughout the day and evening from the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Facility.

    Panama 2, El Salvador 2 (2:1 pens)
    Panama qualified for the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and advanced to the 2017 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship final after a dramatic triumph on penalty kicks, 2-1, after a 2-2 draw with El Salvador in the semifinals.

    In just their second CBSC appearance, the Panamanians battled back from a goal down to move within three minutes of winning in normal time, only for Agustin Ruiz to level with an overhead kick late in the encounter.

    However, with the contest eventually going to penalties, Jose Ruben Batres and Heber Antonio Ramos faltered, while Julio Watson and Rafael Garcia found the net for Panama.

    Goals: 0-1: Heber Antonio Ramos, min. 11 (2); 1-1: Galvez, min. 5 (2); 2-1: Rangel, min. 4 (3); 2-2: Ruiz, min. 1 (3)

    Penalties: Batres (El Salvador) saved, Watson (Panama) scored, Robles (El Salvador) scored, Rafael Garcia (Panama) scored, Heber Antonio Ramos (El Salvador) saved

    Guadeloupe 0, Mexico 3
    Defending champion Mexico earned a 3-0 win over Guadeloupe to advance to the final and book a ticket to the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.

    Jose Ramon Maldonado Alonso struck for two and Diego Oswaldo Rodriguez added another, while Guadeloupe played without suspended star forward Sebastien Hell.

    With a victory over Panama in Sunday's final, Mexico can clinch its fourth CONCACAF title.
