    Canada to welcome Curacao for pre-Gold Cup friendly

    OTTAWA - Canada will host Curacao in an international friendly on June 13 at the Stade Saputo in Montreal, Canada Soccer announced Saturday.

     Both sides are using the match as part of their pre-CONCACAF Gold Cup preparations, while the Curacaoans will also be getting ready for their 2016/17 Scotiabank CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup semifinal against host Martinique that is scheduled to be played June 22.

    In the Gold Cup, Canada – the 2000 champion – will face Group A rivals French Guiana (July 7), Costa Rica (July 11) and Honduras (July 14), while debutant Curacao is slated to take on Jamaica (July 9), El Salvador (July 13) and Mexico (July 16) in Group C.
